In fact, they claim that a couple of daily cans of diet soda won't harm you. The visual is especially troubling - they show a chart that shows a scale that ranges from 'skip it' to 'dig in' and they enthusiastically give it the highest range - dig in!
Here's where it gets even more interesting. If you go onto their internet site and link to 'Food & Recipes', then to 'Myths and Facts' ( http://www.health.com/health/myths-facts/), they have two articles side-by-side. The first article, 'Should You Rethink 0-Calorie Drinks?' lists 10 reasons to avoid aspartame. The article RIGHT NEXT TO IT tells you to dig in to artificially sweetened drinks.
So, Health Magazine - which is it?
They also flip-flop when it comes to GMOs. Here is an article I found on their website titled 'Why It's Time to Demand Organics' (http://www.health.com/health/article/0,,20428072_2,00.html) listing all the dangers of GMO foods. But, then here they are in November, telling us to dig into our GMO corn and soybeans.
Health Magazine is owned by Time, Inc. - their parent company is Time Warner. Need I say more?
It's safe to say that I won't be renewing my subscription to this magazine!
